How times flies when you are Coworking
Well we have pretty much come to the end of our first year of coworking in our lovely Chichester space. How did that happen! They do say time flies when you are having fun, and it really has been.
It’s been hard work of course, as with any new business it has been all hands to the pump whilst we juggle the day jobs. We have learnt a huge amount (some of it through mistakes we have made!) but overall have decided we are rather proud of what we have achieved.
We thought we would use our Mantra WORK. TALK. GROW. to take a look at just how far we have come.
WORK
The essence of our coworking space is to help people work. To provide a space where people can get their heads down and concentrate with no distractions. I think we can safely say we have achieved that wholeheartedly. In our first 11 months we have seen our members spend a total of 5326 hours working hard at one of our bespoke desks or booths.
That’s a great deal of work done! To prove it here are just a few pictures of our members cracking through their work.
TALK
As well as being a great place to work, it was also crucial that Rume2 was a space that would promote conversation. Many freelancers, remote workers and solo entrepreneurs struggle with the isolation their work lives bring.
We positively encourage our members to talk to each other. From one to one introductions, social events, business talks & workshops or just chats around the coffee machine we are delighted that we have probably instigated thousands of conversations between our 200+ members.
It’s not just friendships we have nurtured through talking though. We have seen a number of brilliant collaborations pop up between members. People helping each other out, giving advice & in many cases working together. Talking is good for the soul AND the bank balance!!
GROW
Ultimately whether a one-man band, micro business or part of a large corporation, we are all looking to grow both as individuals and across our business. We are delighted to hear from many members that being part of the Rume2 community has helped grow their business.

Feedback like that really warms the cockles. We are absolutely focused as we move into 2020 to encourage even more growth.
We will be expanding upon our vibrant program of talks & workshops to help our members grow their minds, making sure we open doors for more collaborations and running our Business Growth Program again for members who really want to focus on building a strategy to grow their business.
In 2019 we ran over 35 talks & workshops across multiple topics, covering business skills, inspiring stories, crafty sessions & mindfulness & wellbeing. All completely FREE to our members.
We are going to be doing some growing of our own in 2020 too! We are delighted to be expanding at our Sussex House premises and launching a new space with private offices for our ever-growing community. Wow how far we have come from our first day to now with so much more excitement to come next year. Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported us so far, let’s smash year 2!!
