Towns/city centres and high streets are undergoing a structural change. Over supply of retail needs re-balancing with other commercial activities. There is space for residential but should not be at the expense of restricting commercial activity.

Partnerships, long term visions, action plans and strong leadership are required. It won’t happen overnight, what centres transition into remains to be seen, but one things for sure it needs to fulfil the needs of the local catchment.
