The word health relates to the word ‘whole’, something that is complete in itself. These days we tend to forget about the whole and favour a reductionist view of health. We value specialists over generalists. We separate the mind from the body, and we separate the body into individual parts. But when it comes to health, the sum really is greater than its parts.
Whole body wellness is about looking after all your parts and recognising how they influence each other. I’ll talk about Nutrition, Movement, Mindset and Sleep and show you how making changes in one area (good or bad) can create a change in some or all the other areas. Did you know that weight loss can sometimes be better managed with sleep than with exercise? Did you know that your thoughts affect chronic pain or that the way you eat is as important as what you eat?
Being healthy isn’t about perfection in any one area but understanding how everything is connected and interlinked and using this information to look after your ‘whole' self.
